Why I Stopped Buying Cheap Pressure Gauges (And What It Cost My Company's Reputation)

The Day I Realized Cheap Gauges Aren't Cheap

It was early 2023 when our facilities manager walked into my office, holding a pressure gauge that looked like it had been through a war. The glass was cracked, the needle stuck at 80 psi, and the casing was covered in some oily residue I didn't want to identify.

"This is the third one this quarter," he said, dropping it on my desk. "Our techs are spending more time swapping these out than actually maintaining the system."

I still use budget vendors for some non-critical items. But for pressure gauges, flow meters, and anything that affects process control? I'll stick with Ashcroft. Simple.
